EXCELR8 JOINS FORCES WITH PRO-SET® IN NEW PARTNERSHIP
EXCELR8 can today confirm a new partnership with PRO-SET® Epoxy that will come into play for the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season.
Wessex Resins and Adhesives, a Hampshire-based business, is the licensed manufacturer of PRO-SET Epoxy and is responsible for supplying the UK, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Founded in 1981 and operated by the second and third generation of the family, they are extremely excited with the new partnership with EXCELR8 providing a route into UK motorsport at the highest level.
PRO-SET Epoxy was born in the USA by the Gougeon Brothers during the late 1980’s as an answer to an early composite market. PRO-SET Epoxy is widely used across the marine industry to help in the production of strong, lightweight composites that are required to deal with the harshest of environments.
As a prime example, PRO-SET Epoxy was an official supplier to the American Magic team that competed in the famous America’s Cup and is also widely used on moth boats that appear to glide across the surface of the water on special foils.
PRO-SET Epoxy has already been used within the automotive arena to assist in the production of lightweight carbon fibre parts for use on high-performance custom and off-road cars, and in motorsport thanks to a partnership in NASCAR – where its systems have been used in the creation of body panels.
EXCELR8, which is running a four-car programme in the BTCC this season under the Team VERTU banner, will work with Wessex Resins & Adhesives to explore ways in which PRO-SET Epoxy can be utilised to help the team in its quest to secure championship honors in the most competitive race series in the UK.
Since debuting in the BTCC back in 2019, EXCELR8 has scored 23 race wins and picked up more than 60 podium finishes; taking the championship title in 2022 thanks to Tom Ingram.
The new season gets underway at Donington Park later this month.
Justina Williams, EXCELR8 Team Owner, said:
“In a championship like the BTCC, fine margins can have a huge impact on track – particularly when fractions of a second can mean the difference between P1 and P6 in qualifying.
“With that in mind, we’re delighted to announce this new technical partnership with Wessex Resins & Adhesives and PRO-SET Epoxy and are excited to see how it can help us to maintain our position at the head of the pack in such a competitive series.”
Sam Oliver, Operations Director, Wessex Resins & Adhesives:
“We’re thrilled to announce a significant three-year partnership with EXCELR8 Motorsport. This partnership, built on a foundation of shared performance values, promises to provide us with an exciting multi-season journey together.”
